The 21st century is witnessing a new phase of humanity history characterised by unprecedented crises and technological advancements at the same time, both on a global scale. The former includes increasingly perilous and widespread conflicts, global health crises, economic inequality and climate change, whilst the latter is driven by smart technology, Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence. These global crises are directly or indirectly quality and sustainability issues, echoing the prophetic words of quality guru Joseph Juran: “The 20th century has been the Century of Productivity, but the 21st century will be the Century of Quality”.
We firmly believe that satisfactory solutions to these global crises require an integrated approach based on measurement that underpins Industry 4.0, AI, quality and sustainability. The International Conference on Measurement, AI, Quality, and Sustainability (MAIQS) is a conference series devoted to the advancing of the science and technology in this broad field. The theme of MAIQS 2025 is Innovating for Smart and Sustainable Industries and Societies.
